Job Title: Cloud Platform EngineerLocation: India (Remote)SummaryClient is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer who designs systems that deliver consistent, reliable outcomes, not just executes tasks. This role is focused on building repeatable, scalable cloud patterns and processes that reduce operational overhead, enforce consistency, and enable teams to move faster with confidence.An ideal Candidate will play a key role in shaping platform capabilities, improving existing environments, and establishing guardrails that support secure, cost-effective, and reliable cloud operations at scale.Key Responsibilities:Design and implement repeatable infrastructure and workflows using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Build platform systems and guardrails that enforce consistency, security, and reliability by defaultContinuously improve existing (brownfield) environments through iterative, pragmatic enhancementsApply FinOps principles in architecture and engineering decisions to balance cost, performance, and scalabilityThoughtfully evaluate tradeoffs, knowing when to optimize, when to prioritize business velocity, and when to accept riskAutomate repetitive tasks and standardize processes to reduce manual effort and operational variabilityContribute to architecture patterns, best practices, and shared platform capabilities across the organizationCreate and maintain clear documentation for systems, workflows, and engineering decisionsCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and communicate decisions in a way that builds trust and confidentiality.Technical Qualifications:Strong experience with AWS and core cloud architecture conceptsProficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)Solid understanding of cloud security best practices and the AWS Well-Architected FrameworkFamiliarity with modern cloud architecture patterns, including: APIs and service-based architectures Event-driven systems CI/CD pipelinesStrong documentation habits and version control disciplineEmphasis on best practices related to security, scalability, reliability, and user experienceAbility to uplift and standardize less mature or inconsistent environmentsFocus on building long-term, maintainable solutions rather than short-term fixes.
