Job Title: PsychologistLocation: MIT ADT University, Vishwa Rajbaug, Loni Kalbhor, Pune (MIT ADT University Campus)Role ObjectiveThe University Psychologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health support to a diverse student body of 12,000+ and university staff. The role involves individual counseling, crisis intervention, and the development of proactive wellness programs that align with the university’s mission of creating /"emotionally intelligent and spiritually elevated/" individuals.Key Responsibilities1. Clinical & Counseling ServicesConduct one-on-one counseling sessions for students and staff dealing with anxiety, depression, academic stress, relationship issues, and identity concerns.Perform psychological assessments and diagnostic screenings to identify high-risk individuals.Provide crisis intervention and immediate psychological first aid for emergencies (e.g., trauma, self-harm, or acute distress).Maintain strictly confidential and standardized electronic health records of all sessions and interventions.2. Preventive Wellness & OutreachDesign and lead workshops and seminars on topics such as emotional intelligence, stress management, mindfulness, and digital detox.Collaborate with the Vishwashanti Sangeet Kala Academy and School of Vedic Sciences to integrate traditional holistic wellness practices with modern psychology.Develop peer-support programs and train /"Student Wellness Ambassadors/" to identify signs of distress in peer groups.3. Academic & Career SupportWork with the School of Education & Research to support students with learning disabilities or neurodivergent needs.Provide career counseling and vocational guidance based on psychometric testing.4. Administrative & Collaborative RolesLiaise with external psychiatrists and hospitals for cases requiring medical intervention or hospitalization.Advise the university administration on policies related to student mental health and campus environment.Required Qualifications & SkillsEducationEssential: Master’s Degree (MA/MSc) in Psychology (Clinical or Counseling) from a UGC-recognized university.Preferred: M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology (RCI recognized) or a Ph.D. in Psychology.Certification: Valid registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) is highly desirable for clinical roles. Experience3–5 years of experience in a university or clinical setting. Experience working with the 18–25 age demographic is a significant advantage.Proven track record of handling crisis situations and conducting group therapy.Technical & Soft SkillsProficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, or Mindfulness-based interventions.Language: Fluency in English, Marathi, and Hindi is essential for effective communication with a diverse campus population.Empathy & Ethics: Strong adherence to APA/RCI ethical guidelines regarding confidentiality and professional boundaries.Why Join MIT ADT University?Holistic Environment: Work in an award-winning /"Green Campus/" on the banks of the Mula-Mutha river.
