Job Purpose: The Director of Engineering at the Corporate Office will provide strategic leadership and oversight for engineering operations across all TajSATS units. This role is responsible for driving infrastructure development, sustainability initiatives, automation, and team capability, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and operational excellence.Job Description:Contributing to Organization’s Mission Spearhead the Fire, Life and Safety initiatives within the organization to establish and maintain a safe and secure working environment.Develop and implement detailed risk management and contingency plans for critical engineering systems. Develop a comprehensive business continuity plan to address potential critical equipment failures or natural disasters, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Planning, budgeting & monitoring budgets of the maintenance & upgradation activities.Sustainability Develop strategies to reduce energy consumption, waste and overall environmental impact of the engineering operations. Implement green engineering practices by introducing energy-efficient equipment, water conservation measures and waste reduction strategies.Implement eco-friendly technologies and practices in line with the company’s sustainability goalsGovernanceLead, manage and mentor the engineering team to ensure optimal performance and development. Identify key competencies and gaps within the team and guide talent development in the Maintenance and Engineering areas by addressing individual and team developmental needs to overcome these gaps.Equip the team with advanced engineering skills to stay current with industry trends, ensuring that TSACL remains a leader in infrastructure and processes, ahead of the competition. Regular performance review of the engineering team against assigned targets across all units.Provide weekly and monthly updates on all ongoing activities and challenges to the senior leadership team. In accordance with business needs and for ongoing monitoring, the consultant will be required to travel to the units regularly, following corporate guidelines.New Projects & RenovationsDevelop a long-term equipment lifecycle management strategy, ensuring critical machinery is replaced or upgraded before it becomes obsolete, while maximizing the return on investment for each asset.Oversee engineering-related projects, including new system installations, facility upgrades or the introduction of new technology.Oversee the smooth ongoing & upcoming renovation projects in all the units, adhering to the budgets and timelines Assist in the planning, budgeting of renovation of old and building new units.Implement automated solutions where feasible to streamline food production and packaging processes, reducing human error and labor costs.Major Areas of ResponsibilityStrong knowledge of international and Indian cuisinesExpertise in large-scale food production and menu engineeringProficient in HACCP, FSSAI, and airline catering regulationsEffective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesQualifications and ExperienceDegree/Diploma in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts from a reputed instituteMinimum 10–15 years of culinary experience with at least 5 years in a leadership rolePrior experience in airline catering, luxury hotels, or industrial kitchens preferredLanguage ProficiencyShould be fluent in both English and HindiWorking Conditions:Fast-paced production environmentRequires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidaysAdherence to strict hygiene and safety protocols
