Role Description:We are seeking an Engineering Manager – Platform & Core Engineering to lead the team that owns the foundational platform powering GLIDEPARCS® — APIs, data services, authentication, multi-tenant architecture, background jobs, observability, and the AWS infrastructure that everything else runs on. You will manage a stream of ~8–10 engineers (backend-heavy, with DevOps/SRE) in Hyderabad, partnering daily with US product, architecture, and engineering operations leaders.This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. You set the technical bar, run the sprint cadence for your stream, coach engineers, and are personally comfortable opening a PR in Ruby on Rails when the situation calls for it. You are the operating partner for the Director of Engineering Operations on everything that makes the platform reliable, scalable, and secure.Responsibilities:Lead and grow the Platform & Core Engineering stream — hire, coach, and develop backend and platform engineers.Own the roadmap and delivery for core platform services: REST APIs, data models, multi-tenant foundations, identity, permissions, background jobs, and event pipelines.Drive engineering excellence on the Ruby on Rails + PostgreSQL + AWS stack — code quality, test coverage, migrations strategy, performance, and cost efficiency.Partner with the Director of Engineering Operations on CI/CD, observability, incident response, and release readiness.Embed security and compliance by design (PCI DSS, SOC 2, GDPR, DPDP) into platform services, including RBAC, audit trails, secrets management, and data governance.Define and track platform KPIs: API latency and error rates, deployment frequency, MTTR, change failure rate, and unit cost per transaction.Work directly with US product leadership, Principal Product Manager, and the Development Lead – Compliance & Integrations to sequence platform work against product and integration roadmaps.Champion an AI-first engineering culture — adoption of Claude, Copilot, Cursor, and internal AI tooling for code review, test generation, documentation, and on-call triage.Run sprint ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retros), manage the stream’s backlog in GitHub/Jira, and report velocity and health into the weekly US–India engineering review.Mentor senior engineers toward Staff/Principal IC paths and build a succession bench for the stream.Skills Required:10–14 years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years leading an engineering team of 6–10 engineers in a SaaS product company.Deep hands-on expertise with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL at production scale (multi-tenant SaaS, high-throughput APIs, background job systems).Strong working knowledge of AWS (ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch, IAM) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent).Proven ability to translate product roadmaps into scalable API and data architectures, with clear versioning and backward compatibility practices.Track record of shipping secure and compliant platforms (PCI DSS, SOC 2, GDPR, or equivalent) including RBAC, audit trails, encryption at rest/in transit, and secrets management.Strong engineering hygiene: code review culture, automated testing (unit + integration), trunk-based development or equivalent, and predictable release cadence.Excellent written and verbal communication in English; comfortable running decisions and reviews with distributed US–India teams.Experience operating in agile/scrum environments with measurable sprint outcomes.CTC Band - ₹42–55LPreferredPrior experience at a SaaS, FinTech, GovTech, or mobility/IoT platform company.Prior experience with GLIDEPARCS.Exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, SQS) and data pipelines.Experience integrating with payment gateways, identity providers, and third-party APIs at scale.Hands-on adoption of GenAI / Agentic AI tooling in the engineering workflow (code generation, test synthesis, PR review automation, AI-assisted on-call).Prior experience in a GCC / Global Capability Center / Center of Excellence, especially a US–India operating model.Exposure to React / React Native as a consumer of the platform APIs you own.About Premium ParkingGLIDEPARCS Premium Parking® is a US-based industry leader transforming urban mobility with a tech-first platform that blends AI, IoT, enterprise urban mobility, and elegant design to deliver scalable, frictionless parking and compliance solutions.
