Position Summary The Business Development Associate - India serves as the strategic architect between technical engineering requirements and global commercial success. This professional is responsible for interpreting complex client scopes and RFPs to develop high-precision pricing models and commercial structures tailored for the Indian, US, and EMEA markets. Core Responsibilities Interpret client scope and RFPs, Develop commercial proposal and pricing model, Prepare detailed cost estimate for each task for the Indian, US and EMEA market projects Commercial acumen — cost modelling, margin management, commercial terms, and contract structures. Technical literacy — ability to read engineering scope, drawings, and specifications to translate into priced deliverables. Estimating and pricing tools — Excel modelling, rate libraries, cost databases, and familiarity with estimating software. Market knowledge — labour rates, material costs, logistics, tax and duty regimes, and local subcontractor markets for India, US, and EMEA. Competitor Pricing knowledge as per current dynamic market scenario Stakeholder management — coordinate cross‑functional inputs and negotiate with clients and vendors. Communication and negotiation — present pricing rationale, defend assumptions, and close commercial terms. Coordinate cross‑functional inputs with the Engineering and Development team. Educational and Technical Skills Should hold an MBA from a Tier-I/II Indian B-School. MBA from top tier US B-School will also be considered Any additional credentials that reflect an ability to operate out of the box such as having background in finance, operations, strategy will be considered a plus Preferred Skills Software Proficiency: MS Office Knowledge of AutoCAD is a bonus Project Management: Experience in managing design projects from conception to implementation Ability to coordinate with other engineers and stakeholders Renewable Energy Systems: Understanding of solar energy systems and their integration into existing infrastructure Experience At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in the Solar Sector. (Consultancy and Analyst experience is highly preferred Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioural Skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion. Technical understanding of clean energy business processes Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
