About the RoleWe are looking for a Quality & Certification Lead to drive end‑to‑end product certification and regulatory compliance for our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role ensures that every component—from cell to containerised DC block—meets global safety, performance, and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:Vendor Quality OversightDrive VQPs for all critical vendors (cells, BMS, integrators).Approve ITPs; oversee FAT/SAT execution.Lead NCR management (RCA, CAPA, closure).Maintain AVL; conduct vendor audits and qualifications.Manage third‑party inspections as required.First‑Product Validation & Design ComplianceLead FAI for critical components and subsystems.Embed compliance across product lifecycle to DC block integration.Define LFP‑specific safety and performance test protocols.Review engineering designs for compliance gaps.Coordinate type‑testing with UL, TUV, Intertek, BIS.Regulatory & Certification ManagementAct as primary interface with CEA, SECI, BIS, IEC, UL, TUV.Define test matrices; resolve certification non‑conformities.Own certification roadmap (timelines, costs, dependencies).Maintain certification validity through design and lifecycle changes.Track regulatory updates and assess compliance impact.Technical Documentation OwnershipOwn and maintain TCF (BOMs, drawings, test reports, deviations).Develop a full documentation suite across development, integration, O&M.Prepare bankability packages for IEs and lenders.Manage version control and document traceability.Prepare CE/BIS declarations and regulatory dossiers.Cross‑Functional IntegrationEmbed compliance requirements with Product, Engineering & Execution teams.Align safety documentation with Insurance requirements.Support commissioning with defined quality checkpoints.Provide compliance inputs during customer/EPC discussions.Relevant Standards & Framework Expertise:Candidates must have strong working knowledge of:IEC: 62619, 62933, 61427UL: 1973, 9540, 9540AUN: 38.3CEA/SECI: Grid connectivity & tender complianceBIS/IS: IS 16270ISO: 9001, 14001, 45001NFPA: 855, 68, 69Professional Requirements:8–10 years total experience, including 3–6 years in batteries with exposure to stationary BESS.Proven experience managing certification projects with UL, TUV, Intertek or equivalent labs.Strong vendor quality background: audits, ITP management, NCR/RCA/CAPA closure.Hands‑on experience with FAT/SAT for complex electro‑mechanical systems.Experience in lean/start‑up product development environments preferred.Deep knowledge of LFP chemistry, BMS architecture, and DC block integration.Expertise in IEC 62619, UL 9540/9540A, and CEA grid connectivity standards.Understanding of thermal runaway behaviour, ESS fire codes, and safety frameworks.Familiarity with bankability/IE documentation and ability to review drawings, schematics, BOMs.Strong documentation, process discipline, assertive vendor management, and willingness to travel.
