Job Description

Looking for a Unity / Photon Fusion expert to consult on a real-time networked physics issue (5-20 hour contract)The Project: We are building a fast-paced, 1v1 real-time competitive mobile game in Unity. The core mechanic involves players throwing a high-speed physics-based disc back and forth in an arena. We are using Photon Fusion (Host Mode) for multiplayer. The Problem: We are currently experiencing physics jitter and sync issues on the non-host client side. We have attempted a deterministic/RPC trajectory approach (sending input/angle/force and simulating locally), but we are still seeing visual stutter and edge-case desyncs when collisions occur. What We Need: We are looking for a senior multiplayer network engineer to act as a consultant to unblock our current Unity development team.Review our current Photon Fusion architecture and RPC/NetworkRigidbody implementation.Identify the gaps in our interpolation, clock synchronization, or client-side prediction logic.Provide a clear architectural fix or pair-program with our lead dev to implement the correct syncing strategy for a fast-moving physics projectile.Required Expertise:Deep, proven experience with Photon Fusion (not just PUN 2).Experience handling real-time, fast-moving networked physics (Client-side prediction, interpolation, rollback, or deterministic lockstep). Please Note: We are NOT looking for developers whose only multiplayer experience is in turn-based games, card games, or slow-moving MMOs. We need real-time action/physics expertise.Engagement: This is a short-term consulting role (est. 5-20 hours) to diagnose and fix a specific bottleneck. Flexible on hours and timezone overlaps (our core team operates in IST), but we need someone who can dive into the codebase immediately.Feel free to reach out directly at as well.
