Role Overview You will oversee end-to-end engineering of PCBA-based testing and automation systems — including ICT (In-Circuit Test), FVT (Functional Validation Test) fixtures, robotic integration, and automated equipment design — within high-volume manufacturing. Your expertise will span hardware design, automation systems, process engineering, and equipment deployment. Key Responsibilities Test Fixture & PCBA Design - Design ICT/FVT test fixtures, including PCBA-based interface boards, load boards, and DUT connectors. - Develop high-precision fixture layouts for electrical testing, pogo-pin sockets, and contact validation. - Ensure SI/PI integrity for high-speed signals (e.g. digital I/O, RF, power rails), using controlled impedance designs and board stack-up practices. - Support PCB schematic capture, layout review, and DFM/DFA compliance. Automation & Robotic Integration - Engineer robotic automation systems and motion-control integration supporting ICT/FVT fixture flows. - Program and configure PLCs, robot controllers (e.g. Fanuc, ABB), HMIs, and motion control software for test automation. - Integrate vision systems (multi-camera AOI/inspection) and IIoT sensor data for quality validation. - Simulate and optimize motion paths, cycle times, and fixture throughput. - Provide end‑to‑end engineering for LabVIEW-based platforms: design and deploy automated test systems, DAQ/control solutions, real‑time applications, and instrumentation software. Work closely with hardware, automation, and cross‑functional teams to deliver robust and modular virtual instrumentation systems. - Interface with instrumentation and hardware via DAQmx/VISA over communication protocols such as Modbus, CAN, RS‑232/485, SPI, USB, or Ethernet Equipment & Production Engineering - Lead deployment, calibration, and validation of test and automation systems in the PCBA production environment. - Support process qualification and equipment engineering activities including preventive maintenance, SPC, and reliability validation. - Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to implement FMEA, Six Sigma, root cause analysis workflows. - Implement predictive maintenance strategies using data analytics and equipment performance monitoring. Validation & Debug - Drive hardware bring-up, fault diagnosis, and test debug during NPI/test-floor integration. - Interface with failure analysis, yield engineering, and validation teams to optimize fixture performance and uptime. - Handle process documentation, SOPs, validation metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration & Leadership - Partner with cross-functional teams: process engineering, product/test engineering, SMT/assembly, and quality. - Lead design reviews, project timelines, and handoffs for ICT/FVT and automation milestones. - Mentor junior engineers, oversee vendor qualification for probe/fixture suppliers and robotic integrators. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. - 5–10+ years in PCBA test fixture design, automation tooling, robotic system deployment, or equipment engineering in electronics manufacturing. - Proven experience with ICT, FVT, flying-probe, functional testers, or test handler systems. - Strong background in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Omron), HMI design, and robot motion/control integration. - Practical skills in SI/PI simulation and PCB layout tools (Cadence Allegro/SiWave, Mentor Xpedition, PADS). - Solid understanding of DFM/DFA, SMT/ICT/FVT process environments, statistical process control, and quality systems (Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA). - Hands-on debugging, validation, and automation deployment experience in manufacturing test floors. - 6+ years of hands‑on experience with LabVIEW development and NI hardware platforms (e.g. cRIO, PXI, DAQms).
