Role SummaryThe SAP S/4HANA Functional Solution Architect will be responsible for end‑to‑end solution design, functional governance, and business transformation leadership across SAP S/4HANA programs. This role works closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical architects to ensure scalable, clean‑core, and industry‑aligned SAP solutions.The architect acts as the functional authority across multiple SAP streams and plays a critical role in pre‑sales, program delivery, and solution assurance.Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Architecture & DesignOwn end‑to‑end SAP S/4HANA solution architecture across functional domains (OTC, PTP, preferred etc.).Define to‑be business processes aligned with SAP Best Practices and industry standards.Ensure architectural compliance across: Core S/4Add‑onsIntegrationsReporting & analyticsProgram & Delivery LeadershipProvide functional oversight across multiple SAP workstreams.Review and approve: Functional designsConfiguration strategyWRICEF rationalizationProactively manage cross‑process dependencies and risks.Act as design authority during solution reviews, design freezing, and release milestones.Business & Stakeholder EngagementPartner with process owners, and IT leadership to translate business strategy into SAP solutions.Facilitate: Fit‑to‑Standard workshopsDesign thinking sessionsGap prioritization discussionsEnsure alignment between business outcomes and SAP capabilities.Pre‑Sales & Advisory SupportSupport pre‑sales engagements including: Solution definitionRFP responsesEstimation reviewsArchitecture decksArticulate value‑based SAP transformation stories to clients.Mentor presales and solution teams on SAP S/4 best practices.Governance & Quality AssuranceEstablish and enforce: Functional design standardsConfiguration governanceDocumentation templatesEnsure regulatory and compliance alignment where applicable.Provide guidance on data migration, testing strategy, and cutover approach.Required Skills & ExperienceSAP Functional Expertise12+ years of SAP functional experience.Strong hands‑on expertise in S/4HANA (On‑Prem / Public / Private Cloud).Deep knowledge in one or more core areas: Supply Chain (MM/SD/PP/QM)Proven experience leading large S/4 transformation programs.Architecture & Process KnowledgeStrong understanding of: SAP Best PracticesFit‑to‑Standard methodologiesClean Core architectureExperience with: SAP BTP (integration/extensibility concepts)SAP Activate methodologyAbility to design solutions with minimal customization.Stakeholder & Leadership SkillsExcellent communication and executive‑level presentation skills.Proven ability to influence senior business stakeholders.Experience mentoring functional leads and solution consultants.Strong analytical and decision‑making capabilities.Nice‑to‑Have SkillsExperience with industry verticals such as: ManufacturingCPGLife SciencesSemiconductorExposure to: SAP SignavioSAP LeanIXSAP Analytics CloudPrior experience in consulting or SI environments.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology, or Business.SAP S/4HANA certification(s) preferred.MBA or equivalent is an added advantage.High Pedigree of education and organizations preferred
