Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Fortinet Network Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-grade network security infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have deep proficiency in Fortinet's Security Fabric ecosystem, including FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and related platforms. This is a fully remote position aligned to US business hours.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and manage Fortinet FortiGate firewalls across enterprise and multi-site environments.Configure and maintain advanced security policies, NAT rules, VPN tunnels (IPsec/SSL), and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Static).Administer FortiManager for centralized policy management and FortiAnalyzer for log management, reporting, and threat analysis.Implement and manage Fortinet Security Fabric integrations including FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiAuthenticator, and FortiSIEM.Design and maintain SD-WAN solutions leveraging Fortinet's SD-WAN capabilities for optimized traffic management.Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance reviews aligned to NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS benchmarks.Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/Layer 3 network issues and drive root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents.Collaborate with SOC, cloud, and infrastructure teams to integrate network security with broader enterprise architecture.Lead network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and lifecycle management for Fortinet infrastructure.Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer within the team.Create and maintain detailed network documentation including topology diagrams, runbooks, and change records.Participate in on-call rotation for critical US-hours incidents as required.Experience RequirementsMinimum 10 years of overall network engineering experience with at least 5 years focused on Fortinet technologies.Proven track record of managing enterprise Fortinet environments with 100+ FortiGate devices or complex multi-site deployments.Experience working in 24x7 NOC/SOC or managed services environments supporting US-based clients.Prior experience in BFSI, Healthcare, Retail, or Technology verticals is an added advantage.Demonstrated ability to handle P1/P2 incidents independently and drive resolution within SLA.Strong documentation skills – ability to produce HLD, LLD, and network topology diagrams.
