Location: Tijuana, On-Site Department: Finance & Accounting General Purpose of the Position The Tax Specialist is responsible for tax compliance of the group’s Mexican legal entities, including the management of audits with tax authorities and third-parties. The role requires knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Likewise, the tax specialist will cover the Company’s needs for local tax laws, reporting requirements, statutory filings, corporate strategy, transfer pricing and indirect taxes. Position Tasks / Responsibilities · Prepare and submit tax statutory filings, transfer pricing, indirect tax and other local obligations. · Management of local and federal tax audits for the group’s legal entities jointly with the internal tax team and coordination with external advisors. · Assistance on the compliance for specialized services providers (“REPSE” per its acronym in Spanish). · Contribute technical knowledge in area of specialism. · Contribute to an environment where people and technology and AI thrive together to accomplish more than they could apart. · Initiate and lead improvements to manual and system-based accounting processes, in particular, as it relates to tax. · Facilitate cross-functional projects with legal, treasury, technical accounting, and financial reporting. · Other miscellaneous tasks or special projects as assigned. Requirements · 4+ years of experience in tax area. · Good knowledge of accounting (MFRS, U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS) and taxes with preparation of workpapers under MX local regulations (Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Excise Tax, Payroll Tax and other local taxes). · Full knowledge of procedures before tax authorities, such as the submission of tax and informative returns, issuance or cancelation of tax invoices from time to time, submission of notices and answer to invitation letters, among others. · Comprehensive technical skills in corporate and partnership tax planning and compliance, as well as tax accounting and financial reporting, including tax provision preparation, audit, and review. · Knowledge of the tax issues facing local companies in the areas of tax compliance, tax accounting, and consulting services. · Fluent in English. Desirable Requirements (Not Mandatory): · Prior experience working for a Big Four firm. · Knowledge and experience on computerized accounting systems (Oracle, SAP, S/4HANA, etc.).
