Location: Puebla, Mexico Project Duration: 12 months Company: SEGULA Technologies Position Overview SEGULA Technologies is seeking a Body & Interior Design/Test Engineer to support a development project in Puebla. This role focuses on managing design activities, validation testing, and engineering releases related to vehicle body components, interior systems, and safety features. The engineer will ensure that all design and validation activities follow Volkswagen development processes and meet quality and performance standards. Key Responsibilities Control and manage design and testing activities according to the PEP development process, including stages such as prototype development, tooling readiness, and releases for pre-series, Series 0, and SOP. Support engineering validation through functional and durability testing. Manage BMG releases for multiple vehicle models in coordination with project stakeholders. Track project milestones and ensure alignment with development timelines. Coordinate engineering change management activities including AEKOs, technical changes, and cost reduction initiatives. Ensure compliance with Volkswagen engineering standards and design requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integration and validation of body, interior, and safety components. Technical Requirements Experience working with CATIA for 2D and 3D design activities. Knowledge of KVS/Connect or similar engineering data management systems. Understanding of project management processes, including PEP and AVON methodologies. Experience with engineering change management processes and AEKOs. Familiarity with Volkswagen testing catalogs and validation procedures related to functional and durability testing. Knowledge of vehicle body mounting components and interior systems such as instrument panels and seating systems. Understanding of active and passive vehicle safety systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Previous experience in automotive product development, particularly in body, interior, or safety systems, is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams. Languages English: Minimum B2 level required. German: B1 level is desirable.
