We are looking for an experienced Design & Release Engineer to join our growing team and work directly with the Component Engineering and Design teams. This role is critical in identifying, evaluating, and qualifying alternative electronic components to mitigate end-of-life (EOL) risks and eliminate single-source dependencies within the customer’s supply chain. The selected candidate will act as the technical owner of engineering changes and design Release , making key technical and design decisions when components become obsolete. This position requires strong technical expertise in ECU design, automotive electronics, supplier management, and change management processes. Key Responsibilities Lead the identification, evaluation, and qualification of alternative electronic components due to obsolescence (EOL). Perform technical evaluations, risk assessments, and define replacement strategies following form-fit-function criteria. Own and manage the Design Release process in PLM systems, ensuring proper documentation and supplier alignment. Review and/or create electronic design elements including schematics, PCB layouts, and BOM updates. Ensure compatibility of new components at system and ECU level without requiring architectural changes. Manage engineering changes (ECNs) and maintain accurate documentation in BOM and PLM systems. Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, A-SPICE, and AEC-Q100/200. Support prototyping and initial validation testing activities. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive electronic component design and release. Proven experience in Design Release, BOM Management, and PLM systems. Strong knowledge of ECU electronic design and component-level design. Experience in schematic development and PCB design. Solid understanding of automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Ethernet. Experience with: JIRA Arena PLM Siemens Capital CANoe / CANalyzer Altium Ansys 3DX (3DEXPERIENCE) Knowledge of automotive standards: ISO 26262, ASIL, A-SPICE, AEC-Q100/200. Experience managing engineering changes and supplier relationships. Experience in requirements management and electronic reliability analysis. Exposure to prototyping and preliminary validation testing. Strong project management skills. Advanced English (written and spoken). U.S. Visa is desirable.
