Overview Preschool Homeroom Teacher is responsible to accomplish the standards and benchmarks of the grade level, the teaching/learning objectives of all subjects taught in English in order to acquire an excellent level of knowledge, skills and attitudes for the next school year. Ability to communicate in English fluently. Knowledge: Certification that Recognizes Expertise in Level Content in the Areas of Language Arts, Math, General Earth Science, Health and Social Studies. Pedagogic Knowledge: Certification that Recognizes Expertise in Preschool Level Teaching Strategies, Classroom Management. Experience: A minimum of two years teaching experience Education: BA in Education and/or Lic. en Educación Preescolar Responsibilities Know curriculum, level standards and benchmarks, plans, and assess accordingly. Use ISR instructional strategies as well as the ones in latest research. Plan cooperatively with grade level colleagues. Plan for differentiation in the classroom. Observe, record students’ achievements as well as analyses data to make decisions to improve student learning. Follow up on each student with Principal and Student Support Team and develop Personal Learning Plans (PLP). Plan for small group instruction and individual support. Reading, understanding, and following the rules and procedures outlined in the teacher’s handbook. Teach assigned class loads. Exhibit professional, ethical, positive, and honest behaviours with administration and peers. Provide for all classroom instruction in a fair, consistent, and objective manner so that students may achieve mastery in subject matter. This includes provision of benchmark mapping, yearlong planning, unit plans, and weekly lesson plans, substitute teachers, field trips, use of the assessment grade book procedures. Provide for the complete classroom management of a positive, supportive and productive classroom environment.
