Senior Buyer – CAPEX & Tooling | Automotive. At Shape Corp , we are currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team in Querétaro, Mexico . ⚠️ Automotive CAPEX & Tooling Sourcing Experience is required for this role. This is a strategic procurement position supporting key investment decisions, tooling sourcing, and new program launches within our manufacturing operations. The role operates within a matrix structure , reporting locally in Mexico while working closely with stakeholders in the U.S., so strong executive-level English communication is essential. Key Responsibilities: Lead sourcing and negotiation processes for CAPEX projects and production tooling (dies, molds, fixtures, gauges, and equipment) Manage RFQs, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations using a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach Support new program launches , ensuring sourcing timelines align with production readiness Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Quality teams Manage key indirect procurement categories and plant MRO suppliers Build strong supplier relationships while ensuring cost competitiveness, quality, and risk mitigation What We Are Looking For: Proven experience in CAPEX procurement and tooling sourcing within the automotive industry Background in manufacturing environments (Tier 1 / Tier 2 preferred) Strong understanding of tooling development processes and production equipment sourcing Experience supporting new program launches or program transfers Ability to operate in a matrix organization with international stakeholders Advanced English required for communication with U.S. leadership and suppliers Why This Role?
