Job Title: Field Application Materials EngineerAt TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.Job Overview Analyzes the insights of customers and competition to provide inputs for the pre-development work and offers technical expertise for pre and post-sale activities.ResponsibilitiesEarly engagement with customers and channel partners through “consultative” selling mindset, articulate value proposition/benefitsStrong application knowledge to identify current and future customer needs, Identify & develop new opportunities & applications for business growthCoordinate technical deliverables, recommend products/solutions for new & existing applicationsIdentify potential NPI opportunities from customer interactions, with the ability to provide conceptual design and recommendationsCollect VOC and specify customer application and specification needs, draft Product Requirement Document (PRD) for new product developmentSupport product qualifications, ensure product samples, supporting design, and verification activitiesUnderstand the market and leading customers’ technology, strategic direction, trends and unmet needs. Summarize and share the findings to PM and Engineering teams for future roadmapPublish thought leadership articles and papers online/ off-lineActive participation in Tech-Days, Industry events and member of “standard setting” governing bodiesProvide technical marketing support to new product launch and introduction, ensuring high quality contentDrive customer issue resolution. Determine best course of action to solve technical problems, in required timelineSupport New Market growth discussions to support market entry into new applicationsRelay attractive M&A / partnership options back to strategy teamsRequirements Technical SkillsStrong technical knowledge in Performance Materials (e.g., heat shrink tubing, seals, EMI shielding)Experience in application engineering, product development, or technical customer supportAbility to collect and analyze Voice of Customer (VOC) dataKnowledge of NPI (New Product Introduction) processesExperience preparing Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) or similar technical documentationUnderstanding of market trends, customer technologies, and industrial standardsAbility to support product qualification, testing, and sample coordinationBusiness & Commercial SkillsAbility to identify and develop new business opportunities and applicationsExperience supporting sales cycles with technical expertiseStrong value‑proposition communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales teamsSoft SkillsStrong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)Consultative mindset and customer‑centric approachProblem‑solving and troubleshooting skills under tight timelinesAbility to work in cross‑functional and multicultural environmentsSelf‑driven, proactive, and comfortable with customer‑facing interactionsLOCATION: Chihuahua (Cuidad Juarez), Monterrey (Nuevo León), Coahuila (Torreón), and San Luis Potosi.
