Senior Power Electronics Engineer Cerritos, CA (Onsite)$200,000 – $240,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits About the Opportunity We’re partnering with a highly innovative engineering organization specializing in high-speed electric machines, magnetic bearings, and advanced power electronics used across aerospace, defense, and industrial applications . This is a high-impact, hands‑on engineering role where you’ll design and develop high-power converters and inverters (10kW–300kW) and help bring cutting‑edge products from concept through production. The team is experiencing strong growth (~20% YoY) with long‑term plans to expand into multiple new business units — offering real career trajectory and technical ownership . What You’ll Be Doing Design and develop high-power DC/AC and DC/DC converters and inverters Select and evaluate power topologies and switching devices (SiC / GaN) Perform simulation, modeling, and control loop design (MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTSpice) Analyze switching behavior, transients, and system performance Lead prototype build, lab testing, debugging, and validation Drive products through NPI (New Product Introduction) into production Conduct design reviews and technical evaluations Collaborate cross‑functionally with controls, hardware, and manufacturing teams Provide support for production and field issues What We’re Looking For BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (Power Electronics focus preferred) 5+ years of hands‑on power electronics design experience Experience designing inverters, converters, or motor drives Background working in the 10kW–300kW power range Strong understanding of: 3-phase power systems PWM techniques (SVPWM, sinusoidal, etc.) Analog, digital, and power circuits Experience with SiC and/or GaN devices Proficiency with simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTSpice) Strong debugging and lab validation experience Nice to Have Altium schematic and PCB layout experience Magnetics design (high-frequency preferred) EMI / noise mitigation and high-density PCB design Experience with aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems Why This Role?
