OverviewYour Job: As a Sourcing Manager – Mechanical Components, you will lead the sourcing strategy, supplier negotiation, and supplier development for key mechanical commodities, ensuring a competitive supply base that supports quality, cost, delivery, and innovation objectives. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will combine strong supplier-facing influence with a data-driven approach to deliver measurable results across the business.TeamYou will be part of the Strategic Sourcing / Supply Chain organization, partnering closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program teams. You will lead a team of Sourcing Specialists (Sourcers) and work directly with suppliers to strengthen capability and performance.ResponsibilitiesLead sourcing strategy and execution for mechanical commodities including die casting, machined parts, non-metallic components, and plastics.Drive commercial negotiations (pricing, terms, capacity commitments) to deliver total-cost improvements while protecting supply continuity.Develop and grow supplier capability through supplier development plans, performance reviews, and corrective action follow-up.Build strong cross-functional alignment (Engineering/Quality/Operations) to ensure sourcing decisions support technical requirements and launch readiness.Use analytics and market intelligence to guide decisions, track savings, and improve supplier performance with a data-driven mindset.Coach and direct a team of sourcers, setting clear priorities, removing barriers, and ensuring strong execution on sourcing deliverables.Maintain an active supplier engagement model—frequent interaction, on-site support when needed, and fast resolution of constraints impacting delivery or quality.Basic QualificationsProven experience sourcing mechanical components, with direct experience in die casting and machining (required).Experience leading or coordinating a sourcing team, including assigning work, coaching, and driving accountability.Demonstrated strength in negotiation and supplier commercial management.Advanced conversational English (able to lead meetings, negotiations, and stakeholder discussions).Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision making (cost models, supplier performance metrics, savings tracking).Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or a closely related engineering discipline.Experience sourcing non-metallic materials and/or plastic parts (injection molded, molded components, etc.).Track record of supplier development results (quality improvement, lead-time reduction, capacity ramp, cost-out).Hands-on, energetic leadership style; comfortable operating with high visibility and strong stakeholder interaction.Who We AreAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
