We are committed to environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and the safe management of advanced materials throughout their lifecycle.Position Summary Xcelerated Deployment Company is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support and oversee safe operations related to lithium battery recycling, transfer station activities, treatment processes, and transportation management at our facility in Arteaga, Coahuila, Mexico. The EHS Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement of safety and environmental practices associated with lithium battery handling and recycling operations. Key Responsibilities • Implement and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety programs for lithium battery recycling and material handling operations. • Ensure compliance with applicable Mexican environmental, safety, and hazardous waste regulations (e.g., SEMARNAT, STPS, SCT transportation requirements). • Oversee safe operations at the battery recycling facility and transfer station, including material receiving, storage, treatment, and shipment. • Manage hazardous materials handling procedures for lithium-ion batteries and related waste streams. • Coordinate and supervise safe transportation and logistics of battery materials, ensuring compliance with dangerous goods regulations. • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses, implementing corrective and preventive actions. • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and logistics personnel. • Monitor workplace conditions and environmental impacts, including waste management, air emissions, and emergency preparedness. • Lead internal audits and support regulatory inspections. • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance records. • Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in EHS performance. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related field. • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably within: o Hazardous waste management o Battery recycling or energy storage industries o Chemical processing or industrial operations • Strong knowledge of Mexican environmental and occupational safety regulations. • Experience with hazardous materials transportation regulations is highly desirable. • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery hazards, storage, and recycling processes preferred. • Certifications in industrial safety, hazardous materials management, or environmental compliance are a plus. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident investigation skills. • Ability to lead training and influence safety culture across teams. • Fluent in Spanish; English proficiency preferred.
