Job Description

Freight Cost Control & Governance Maintain accurate and up-to-date freight data within transportation and financial systems, including carrier rates, contracts, invoices, and accessorial charges. Support the development and implementation of standardized freight guidelines for site decision-makers, including preferred carriers and shipping methods (small parcel, LTL, FTL, expedited, international). Ensure freight decisions align with established guidelines based on shipment type, service level, cost, and business unit requirements. Partner with Finance and Supply Chain to validate freight charges and support invoice accuracy and cost-control initiatives. Internal Controls & Compliance Establish and maintain internal controls to audit freight activity against approved guidelines and routing instructions. Monitor compliance at the site and shipment level, identifying exceptions and documenting rationale for non-compliant shipments. Escalate recurring non-compliance trends and partner with stakeholders to implement corrective actions. Freight Analytics & Reporting Develop and maintain freight analytics dashboards and reports to provide visibility into freight spend and performance. Report key performance indicators (KPIs) regularly, including monthly freight spend, cost per shipment, shipment volume, savings initiatives, and service level performance. Analyze freight trends across business units, lanes, shipment types, and carriers to identify risks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities. Provide clear, data-driven insights and recommendations to Supply Chain leadership and site teams. Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Support Support freight optimization initiatives, including carrier rationalization, mode optimization, and process standardization. Act as a subject matter resource for sites on freight guidelines, routing questions, and reporting interpretation. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 5+ years of experience in freight coordination, transportation, logistics, supply chain, or distribution operations. Working knowledge of freight modes and shipping methods, including small parcel, LTL, FTL, and international shipments. Experience maintaining freight-related data such as rates, carrier information, invoices, and shipment records within ERP, TMS, or financial systems. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret freight data, identify trends, and prepare clear reports and KPIs. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools, including pivot tables, data analysis, and basic dashboarding. Ability to apply and enforce standardized processes, guidelines, and internal controls. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with cost data and compliance metrics. Effective communication skills with the ability to partner with site teams, Supply Chain, and Finance. English is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
