This role requires a hands‑on leader who thrives in fast‑paced, startup environments, can manage competing priorities with minimal direction, and has a strong foundation in both US GAAP and international accounting practices.What You Will Do:Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple entitiesOversee general accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, revenue recognition, compensation, and payroll‑related activitiesPrepare and review account reconciliations and financial statements in compliance with US GAAPManage and optimize intercompany accounting and ensure proper handling of inter‑entity transactions and transfer pricing between MX and US entitiesEstablish, document, and continuously improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows to support business scalabilityDesign and implement accounting controls from scratch and perform internal audits / pressure‑testing to ensure compliance and accuracyCollaborate with external auditors and support annual audit processesEnsure compliance with Mexican accounting and tax regulations, including oversight of SAT and IMSS requirementsProvide financial analysis and insights to leadership to support strategic decision‑makingSupport financial forecasting, client presentations, and ad‑hoc reporting requestsMentor accounting staff, managing priorities and driving accountability within the teamOperate effectively in a dynamic, startup environment, balancing multiple priorities with minimal directionManage internal controls and processes to ensure robust financial governanceYour knowledge, skills, and abilities:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field7+ years of progressive accounting experience2+ years of controllership experience OR 3+ years managing accounting teamsStrong foundation in US GAAP and financial reporting5+ years of experience with inter‑entity transactions and transfer pricing5+ years of experience working in a small company or startup environmentProven ability to improve, document, and scale accounting processesExperience working within international company structuresHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities independently with little to no directionAdvanced Excel skills (functions, formulas, pivot tables)Business‑level written and spoken EnglishOnly resumes in English will be consideredAuthorized to work in MexicoNice to Have:Strong knowledge of Mexican tax regulations, including experience with SAT and IMSS submissions and auditsCPA or equivalent certificationExperience with Sage Intacct and/or CONTPAQPrevious experience in due diligence, especially for company exitsBackground in Big 4 (audit, tax, or due diligence)Experience in professional services, venture capital, or private equity environmentsWhy The Launch Box?
