Purpose of the PositionThe Industrial Engineer is responsible for applying industrial engineering tools and methodologies to optimize manpower, equipment, material management, operational methods, production processes, and facility layout. The role focuses on standardization, training, cost‑reduction initiatives, and value‑added improvements across manufacturing operations.Main Roles & ResponsibilitiesManpower optimization — Analyze and rationalize manpower requirements to ensure efficient resource allocation.Equipment performance — Promote TPM activities, perform crop‑rate analysis, drive equipment performance improvements, and support equipment investment assessments.Human flow & logistics — Plan and improve human flow and logistics routes; optimize on‑site layout for efficiency and safety.Issue follow‑up — Track, follow up, and close improvement actions reported by project owners or process‑launch departments.Material management — Control material costs, monitor consumable usage, and support storage and warehouse design improvements.Lean Production / TPS — Promote Lean Manufacturing and Toyota Production System principles across operations.Automation evaluation — Assess automation opportunities, optimize resource allocation, and support simulation and process optimization.Line planning — Develop and improve production line layouts, balancing, and workflow.Standardization — Standardize personnel actions, equipment operation, man‑machine ratios, clamping tools, and material handling processes.Continuous improvement — Support ongoing initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational performance.RequirementsEducationRequired: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering.Desirable: MBA or related postgraduate studies.LanguagesEnglish: IntermediateSpanish: AdvancedExperienceExperience in systems engineering, productivity improvement, and manufacturing process optimization.Green Belt certification desirable.Software SkillsVisio: IntermediateExcel: AdvancedPowerPoint: AdvancedSoft & Technical SkillsStrong leadership and effective communication.Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams.Capability in process development and continuous improvement.Knowledge of engineering change flow, manufacturing process flow, and Lean tools.Understanding of productivity and efficiency methodologies within operations.Foxconn provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
