Software Engineer Java (Backend) - Summary of Major Responsibilities. We’re looking for a Software Engineer who focuses on improving software design, collaborating with their peers, and effectively communicates with other representatives of the business. The Engineer will create, test, and evaluate software applications and systems to make them function according to specific requirements. This person must be able to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams to deliver software products to the business. Essential Duties and Responsibilities.Team work, problem solving, and communication skills. To be proactive, highly motivated, and highly engaged. Design and develop software. Test software applications and systems. Apply knowledge of computing systems and software structure. Create flowcharts, diagrams, and other documentation. Create manuals and detailed sets of instructions including algorithms that tell computers what to do. Construct, deploy, and maintain general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Design and implement system security and data assurance. Provide support and guidance for peer programmers, as needed. Ability to work collaboratively with software testers. Ability to organize and maintain flexibility. Minimum Qualifications.Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences or related; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma3 to 5 for a Mid level role.Experience working with Agile teams. Experience with Java (version 21+), Spring Boot (v3+), Queue Services (AWS SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ).Experience with APIs integrations / RESTExperience with event based microservices: Micro-Service Architecture.Excellent knowledge of relational databases PostgreSQL.Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Terraform.Experience with Git or Gitlab.Experience with AWS - Nomad and AWS ECS for Backend. Nice to have: Experience with DataDog metrics.Experience with Docker as a plus.Experience with Ports and Adapters (Hexagonal) Architecture.
