PURCHASING MANAGER Position objective:Responsible for leading the sourcing strategy for indirect materials and services, ensuring cost optimization, supplier performance, and alignment with business objectives. Drives category management, supplier development, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.Experience:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or related field (master’s degree preferred)5+ years of experience in indirect purchasing, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership roleExperience in automotive manufacturing or maquiladora environment preferredProven experience managing indirect categories such as MRO, CAPEX, services, logistics, and utilitiesStrong knowledge of supplier management, sourcing strategies, and cost controlBilingual: English / Spanish Main responsibilities:Lead, develop, and coach the purchasing team to achieve business objectivesDevelop and implement sourcing and category strategies for indirect spendLead spend analysis and identify cost reduction and optimization opportunitiesDrive supplier selection, evaluation, and development processesLead RFQ processes, supplier negotiations, and contract managementEnsure supplier performance through KPIs, continuous improvement, and innovation initiativesBuild and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers using SRM toolsDrive standardization initiatives to achieve economies of scaleIdentify and mitigate supply chain risks and ensure business continuityCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Finance, Engineering, etc.)Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulationsSupport internal and external audits related to purchasing activitiesMonitor and report purchasing KPIs to leadershipLead continuous improvement and savings initiatives across the organizationSkills:Strategic sourcingNegotiation and supplier managementCost reduction and cost controlLeadership and team developmentAnalytical and problem-solving skillsCommunication and stakeholder managementProject managementResults-driven with strong sense of urgency
