Job Description

Position Summary The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing a global team of buyers who procure Purchased Finished Goods (PFG) and oversees purchasing activities for other goods and services. The Purchasing Manager ensures compliance to procedures and identifies improvements to the methods and rules for company purchasing. Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Manage a global team of 7-9 Buyers to ensure Purchase Orders are created and maintained to meet business requirements - Manage key metrics, identify and launch process improvements - Engage with planning and related functions to ensure PFG inventory is available according to customer demand - Develop and manage standard procedures and terminology for supplier set up and maintenance. - Coordinate cross-business activities, benchmarking, periodic meetings and training - Deliver yearly cost reduction and performance targets. - Drive world-class quality and delivery performance by suppliers globally - Negotiate cost reduction, inventory stocking agreements, terms, etc., with suppliers - Provide direction on tools, methods and rules to team - Maintain and develop relationships with current, new and potential suppliers - Create/maintain supplier agreements. - Special projects as assigned Knowledge & Skills - Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Strong negotiating, project management, problem solving and decision-making skills are essential - Experience or demonstrated ability to manage a global team - Experience in managing a global supplier base - Ability to managing complex materials/suppliers and internal teams - Knowledge or prior experience as it relates to data/information exchange throughout supply chain network - Excellent oral and written communication skills including executive level presentations - Attention to detail - Oracle ERP System experienced preferred Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. - Minimum 5 yrs. experience in Mgmt. - Experience in leading Strategic Sourcing, Commodity functions - Project Management Training - APICS certification preferred - SIX Sigma preferred
