Job Summary:We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and managing the costs associated with the company’s products. You will provide financial insights and support to ensure cost-effectiveness and assist in decision-making to improve profitability.The ideal candidate should have strong accounting skills, experience with cost analysis, and the ability to communicate complex financial data clearly.Key Responsibilities:Analyze costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.Prepare monthly cost reports, including the calculation of product costs, labor costs, and overhead costs.Analyze production variances, inventory discrepancies, and pricing variances.Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts related to production costs.Monitor and track expenses and budget variances to ensure alignment with financial targets.Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions to ensure accurate costing.Provide recommendations for inventory control improvements and optimization.Implement and maintain standard costing systems, ensuring accurate costing of products.Prepare quarterly current cost updates based on operational changes and market conditions.Provide analysis on profitability and cost effectiveness of different business units.Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to management for decision-making.Maintain expenses database and collect cost information.Work closely with production, supply chain, and operations teams to gather necessary data and identify opportunities for process improvements.Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.Assist with external and internal audits related to cost accounting.Continuously improve costing systems, processes, and reporting methods.Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards related to cost accounting.Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.Qualifications and Skills:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in cost accounting, finance, or a related role.English and Spanish BilingualExperience with ERP systems and financial software (e.g., SAP or similar) is preferred.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting, and financial reporting.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)Knowledge of inventory management and cost allocation methods.Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work with large amounts of data and identify trends or discrepancies.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
