Job Title

Position is responsible for the technical support on machining of airfoils. Supervision of all employees in machine operations and other production related operations in the Machine Shop. This includes the development, measurement, overall production, maintenance, and operation of a variety of CNC machining centers (High Speed, Multi Axis – Grinding and Milling, Creep feed Grinding) to produce quality precision machined cast parts especially on airfoils. Position requires understanding and application of mechanics, shop mathematics, layout, and machining procedures to verify, train and quality check employees' output. The Machine Shop specialist must ensure all tasks are performed in a safe and efficient manner to ensure achievement of quality, service, and cost objectives. Job ResponsibilitiesUnderstand drawings, translate into production procedures and ensure it is followed up.Develop airfoil and blades machining in facilities in Chandler, SanAntonio, Reynosa and India.Monitor production for speed and accuracy to meet inventory requirements and deliver manufactured products with required quality in a timely fashion.Maintain clear concise communication between customer and shopfloor.Ensure design and adherence to instructions for the appropriate loading and unloading of workpieces during production during machining runsVerify calculations of dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers when needed.Responsible for maintaining industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures performed by staff.Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and CMM equipmentTrain new staff and operators as needed in machining operations. RequirementsProficient in the Manufacturing Operation in which assigned at the Expert/Trainer level.3-5 years CNC Machine Shop experience. Blade and vane experience preferred (aerospace and/or industrial gas turbine)4 and 5 axis Grinders, Vertical Mills, Horizontal Mills, Wire EDM, Creep feed grinding.CMM experience a plusExperience grinding with CBN wheelsKnowledge of machining nickel and cobalt based materials a plusOther competencies include problem solving, initiative, critical thinking, organization and time managementMust have supervisory experienceLean/5S experience is a plusMust read, comprehend, and follow all safety procedures for the department.Must be able to speak and read English.Must be able to comprehend and follow detailed technical instructions.
