The Role We’re hiring a CTO to lead all aspects of engineering at Vetted. You will be the CEO’s counterpart—while the CEO leads product strategy and design, you will own engineering execution, technical vision, and team performance. You’ll lead our team of 9 engineers (mostly senior) and 1 QA, and scale the engineering org as we expand product lines and handle increasing system complexity. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, has scaled systems and teams before, and can build for performance, reliability, and agility. What You’ll Own Define and drive the technical strategy, ensuring it's aligned with business goals and built for scale and speed. Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team. Implement a culture of ownership, speed, and accountability. Own decisions around architecture (currently monolith) and tech stack evolution. Navigate trade-offs to balance short-term velocity with long-term scalability. Engineering Operations Build processes for monitoring, deployment, QA, and incident management. Ensure high uptime and fast iteration. Collaboration with Product & Design Partner closely with the CEO to bring new products and features to life. Turn ideas into stable, high-performing software. Hiring & Team Structure Recruit top-tier engineers, define team structure, and build a resilient, high-performance engineering org.
