POSITION SUMMARY The SFA (Special Feature Authorization) Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the design and release of customizations to computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units; will work in a cross-functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment; solve complex problems where no precedence exists.RESPONSIBILITIES Create customizations of standard computer room air conditioning (CRAC) products as laid out by customer specifications.Collaborate across the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, as well as production and offering teams. Perform a variety of engineering design verifications using traditional engineering methods and CAD programs.Develops solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists - the use of ingenuity and creativity is regularly requiredReview completed CAD and schematic drafting to verify design intent QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Job Qualifications: 2-4 years of experience in an engineering field.Basic understanding of thermodynamics.Strong understanding mechanical and electrical design.Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticismDemonstrated history of delivering quality products to market as part of an engineering team Excellent project management skills and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Preferred 4-8 years of experience in an HVAC related engineering field.Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production rolesUnderstanding of manufacturing limitations, formed sheet metal and formed copper tubesUnderstanding electrical schematic layout and creationProficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONSBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
