Job Description

Generic Description: Develop and implement training and certification programs for NDT personnel at TPI Mexico plants. Develop and implement inspection procedures and NDT methods to ensure compliance with customer specifications and requirements for blade models manufactured at TPI Mexico facilities.Responsibilities: ▪ Knowledge of blade manufacturing processes (layup, infusion, assembly) and their relation to NDT methods for product certification. ▪ Obtain certification in the NDT inspection services provided by TPI. ▪ Ensure each plant has the necessary equipment for their inspection analyses by conducting capacity studies to determine equipment quantity and spare parts needs. ▪ Define technician workload based on production demands at each plant, as well as their knowledge level of the inspection methods. ▪ Participate in PFMEA and control plan creation for new blade projects and generate PFMEA for NDT systems. ▪ Comply with and contribute to the global NDT strategy and standardization approach. ▪ Review and provide final approval of blades or components based on NDT results provided by Level II technicians. ▪ Serve as the direct contact for customers in resolving significant technical NDT/quality issues. ▪ Create, implement, and maintain an internal NDT training and certification program for new and existing technicians in accordance with the Global Written Practice. ▪ Interpret codes, standards, blade drawings, and other contractual documents that govern NDT methods to meet industry and customer requirements. ▪ Perform testing to validate and implement new NDT methods and techniques and to develop and approve inspection procedures. ▪ Assist in establishing acceptance criteria where none exist, based on practical experience in applicable materials, manufacturing, and product technology. ▪ Lead customer NDT audits and related corrective and preventive actions. ▪ Conduct annual performance evaluations for NDT Level I and II personnel. ▪ Complete NDT Level III Qualification Assessments for Level III candidates when required by the Global NDT Authority. ▪ Administer written exams for Level I and II personnel per Global Written Practice and as assigned by the Global NDT Authority. ▪ Perform annual audits of the inspection process for all applicable NDT methods at their manufacturing site. ▪ Prepare, update, and approve NDT procedures and other related documentation. ▪ Conduct and organize MSA results for all NDT methods using Minitab. ▪ Analyze Phase Array data using Olympus OMNIPC or TomoView software. ▪ Other responsibilities and/or assignments as directed by the Local Quality Manager/Director and the Global NDT Authority.Competencies:Education: ✓ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any discipline).Experience: ✓ 3 to 5 years of NDT experience in a manufacturing facility (preferably blade or aerospace manufacturing). Minimum Level II NDT certification.Skills: ✓ Experience interpreting A-scan data. ✓ In-depth knowledge of applicable NDT methods; certification in Ultrasonic Testing required. ✓ Hands-on experience with NDT data analysis software and/or automated NDT systems. ✓ Proficiency in English to interact with global teams and customers (verbal, reading, and writing).Training: ✓ Intermediate computer skills (Minitab, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word). ✓ Problem-solving tools. ✓ MSA (GR&R). ✓ Effective Communication. ✓ Situational Leadership. ✓ Technical certifications in NDT Level III with hands-on experience in UT techniques such as ✓Longitudinal Wave, Phased Array, B-scan, P-scan; VT and Thermography.
