Functional Context: The carrier sales reps on the floor help satisfy the customer’s needs by booking directly with carriers. They are extremely vital to the organization because they help us keep our promises to our customers. Position Summary The carrier sales rep is responsible for covering all the loads that come into their name. They will work to leverage key carrier relationships to cover freight quickly and at a market competitive rate. They will work to provide top notch service to our clients and communicate with sales reps on issues with loads in a timely manner. They will report directly to the carrier sales manager’s and continue to uphold Primo’s core values of honesty, tenacity, and respect. Top 5 tasks & responsibilities: Develop new and grow existing carrier relationships (lead generation, cold calling, and referrals), building a strong connection with trucking company key contacts.Negotiate price, drive process and improve efficiency, and negotiate extra charges with carriers. Ensure shipment details are accurately communicated and tracked in the system.Identify issues and work cross-functionally to determine and implement the best solution.Effectively communicate with coworkers to solve problems proactively and timely.Required Skills, Education & ExperienceTechnician or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, international business, or related field.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Excellent Verbal and Written communication skillsAdvanced English is required. International or multicultural experience is an advantage.At least 6 months of experience in the supply chain industry is a plus.Ability to persuade, motivate, influence and negotiate with others.Ability to thrive under deadlines, drive results, multi-task, and work with a sense of urgency.Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively across the company.
