The Sr. Packaging Engineer will support packaging initiatives and processes for established product lines and develop packaging for new products.Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and execution of packaging solutions for new and existing products while ensuring designs meet required regulatory, safety, environmental, and industry standardLead initiatives to optimize packaging materials, focusing on recyclability, reusability, and reduction of waste.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.Work closely with Project teams (R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing) to align packaging with overall business objectives and ensure seamless integration into production, meet biocomp for packaging and assess sterilization impacts.Responsibilities may include documentation management and an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Creation and management of change requests within the document control system ( currently IFS).Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Packaging or related field, and minimum three (3) years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Experience serving as the program manager for cross functional project teams in the end-to-end lifecycle bring new products/technologies from concept through commercialization.Medical device experience preferred.Understanding of FDA, GMP, ASTM, and ISO guidelines.Experience with equipment process validation principles as well as engineering documentation practices and statistical process control.Requires excellent organization, problem solving, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Strong verbal and written communications, in both English and Spanish) with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in a timely manner. Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
