The primary function of this role is to lead the packaging design and development activities for the assigned product group(s). Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDrive efficient project & task execution through strategic planning and prioritization, ensuring seamless team coordination and successful project completion. Lead the technical aspects of packaging development, optimizing functionality, transportation, and approval of packaging material specifications. Interpret and understand customer and business requirements to develop effective solutions, leveraging existing resources and collaborating closely with stakeholders. Manage relationships and expectations with internal stakeholders to maximize delivered value. Provide technical support to FBG production plants and manufacturing operations. Collaborate with customers, purchased product suppliers, and our manufacturing plants as required on packaging development and approvals related to box styles, dimensions, artwork copy, and pre-production color approvals.Develop and implement robust processes for product scale-up, ensuring a smooth transition from development to manufacturing.Education, Experience, and SkillsBachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a packaging role, with expertise in paper-based packaging (paperboard, cardboard, labels, plastics, etc.). Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations effectively. Technical and analytical proficiency in Packaging Engineering and development. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Understanding of process improvement and quality improvement methodologies. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Must have strong English and Spanish communication skills, both written and verbal.Preferred Experience and SkillsProficiency in Adobe Illustrator, ArtiosCAD, CAPE Pack, and SolidWorks. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. In-depth knowledge of primary/secondary and tertiary packaging processes and equipment. Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP programs
