Job Overview A Payments Gateway Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring seamless payment transactions for our customers. In this position, you will be responsible for negotiating agreements with banks and payment service providers, implementing direct agreements with acquiring banks, and monitoring transaction security to prevent fraud.Negotiate preferential terms and commissions with banks and payment service providers (PSPs). Implement and manage direct agreements with acquiring banks (BBVA, Santander, Banamex), reducing reliance on intermediaries. Ensure reconciliation processes are well-structured, operating correctly, and that any inconsistencies are promptly detected and resolved with the responsible teams. Propose and implement improvements to increase approval rates and reduce chargebacks, fraud, and errors. Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities through ongoing analysis of the payment journey. Evaluate and coordinate the implementation of new payment methods (BNPL, wallets, SPEI, etc.) aligned with business strategy. Monitor transaction security in collaboration with technical teams and fraud prevention tools (e.g. Signify). Ensure compliance with SLAs for support and issue resolution from gateways and banking partners. Prepare reports and KPIs related to performance, conversion rate, payment methods, and associated costs. Collaborate with Operations, IT, Billing, and Customer Service teams to align improvements across the entire value chain. Participate in the preparation of commercial events, ensuring operational readiness and up-to-date agreements. Requirements To succeed in this role, you will need:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering. 2+ years of quality monitoring or customer experience-related roles, preferably in Gateways and Market Places. Proven experience in Ecommerce. Proficient Excel skills. Advanced English language proficiency.
