Our client’s success has concentrated around designing, developing, manufacturing, importing and distributing novelty candy and gift products from all over the world. They specialize in manufacturing and packaging in plastics, tins, ceramics, glass, and poly-resins. All plastic and tin components are extensively evaluated by leading test labs. Our client continues to maintain the highest standards of quality control and assurance.**THE POSITION****SUMMARY**: The Materials Planning Manager operates under general supervision of the Director of Mexico Operations. This individual ensures that sufficient and proper materials are available to achieve desired schedules (as best as possible) in a timely, complete, and efficient manner. Focus will be on scheduling (Master Production Scheduling and Production Planning), material sufficiency, material allocations, capacity, and load planning. Job Responsibilities include: Key planning, organizing and help with continuous improvement of the material planning and management process. Will implement a Master Production Schedule for this new plant start-up. And be a key participant in the implementation of the manufacturing module for ERP MS Dynamics - Navision.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:- Assists Director of Operations in creation of the “Master Seasonal Assembly Schedule” for each assembly line (including contract / outsourcing companies)- Performs daily review of existing component inventory and ordered / inbound materials required for scheduled assembly of finished good items- Identifies issues (and potential issues) to the Director of Operations where scheduled jobs may/will not be ready for release to production as scheduled and reviews existing systems daily for actions and creates a daily exception or action report- Assists Director of Operations in identifying assembly capacity issues, as well as creating potential solutions for scheduling issues- Participates and/or lead periodic schedule review meetings between sales, procurement, scheduling, and assembly that facilitates communication regarding meeting customer shipment orders, scheduling attainment, component inventory issues and other related topics- Continuously communicates production schedule changes to procurement personnel. Interfaces with Purchasing to resolve due date and shortage issues prior to work order release to support customer delivery/contract dates- Tracks actual units produced and hours expended vs. planned production to keep production schedules timely and accurate, as well as to monitor production efficiency- Utilizes computer systems: Navision (on which you will be trained, if necessary), Excel (including pivot tables), Word Documents and custom systems- Will help with continuous improvement of the material planning and management process- Supports business functions and ensures product and process compliance through communicate with other parts of the supply chain reviews existing systems ( Excel, Navision, etc.) daily, Validating the output and accuracy and entering data related to the task**THE CANDIDATE****CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE**:- Requires 4+ years’ experience as a Master Production Scheduler or similar (i.e., MPS, Production Control Manager/Supervisor, Planning Manager/Supervisor, Scheduling Manager/Supervisor).- Strong knowledge and experience of master production scheduling (MPS), production planning and materials planning, typically obtained through advanced education combined with similar experience.- Experience in a small to mid-size manufacturing operation is preferred.- Manufacturing plant start-up experience is a plus.- Must be computer savvy and possess the acumen to quickly learn Enterprise and Material Resource Planning tools as they relate to Production Control and Inventory Management.
