Job Description

Director of Research and Innovation The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with experience leading and coordinating the organization's research and development activities, focused on ensuring the company's innovation and competitive advantage by developing new products, processes, or technologies. Key Responsibilities: Stay ahead of the curve by continuously seeking out new ideas and technologies. Create an environment conducive to the generation of new ideas by stimulating creativity and innovation within your department. Lead the development of new products or the improvement of existing ones by encouraging innovation and creative problem-solving within the team. Evaluate that R&D initiatives align with market trends, customer needs, and the company's strategic objectives. Collaborate with product development teams to prototype, test, and optimize products prior to commercialization. Manage and comply with financial and profitability indicators in the assigned product categories and/or brands. Supervise production procedures of manufacturing personnel, research new trends in the industry, and develop new products based on new formulations. Responsible for designing, formulating, developing, and/or reformulating products, processes, and/or services through management of the research and development laboratory, the supply of materials (raw materials, inputs, packaging, etc.), industrial scale-ups, and the administration of recipes on the server and software. Plan, execute, and complete R&D projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and technical requirements. Guide a team of scientists and engineers, fostering innovation and ensuring high-quality results. Determine and evaluate the performance of R&D staff, ensuring a high level of knowledge and skills is maintained. Collaborate with product development, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful commercialization of new products. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including adequate documentation and intellectual property protection. Manage project resources, including staff, equipment, and budget, to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications: A Chemical Engineer degree, or equivalent, with a Master's degree in a scientific field: Chemistry, Biology, Cosmetics, Computer Science. Tech Skills: Team Development, Project Planning, Budget Management, Communication, Problem Analysis and Resolution, Creativity and Ingenuity, Strategic Thinking. Soft Skills: Leadership, Collaboration, Adaptability, Emotional Intelligence, Problem Solving, Persuasion. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the scientific or technical field (chemistry, biotechnology, engineering, software development). 100% advanced written and spoken English. Excellent spelling in both Spanish and English. Extensive knowledge of the organization's R&D-related disciplines. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in the relevant field. Experience: 7+ years of R&D experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership position. Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex research projects from concept to completion. Personal Presentation, Excellent Communication and Leadership Skills.
