Chief of Government Affairs and Sustentability Officer Position Mission: This role ensures the company’s licenseto operate, strengthens its influence withinMexico’s energy and political landscape, and aligns national operations with ENGIE Group’s ESG ambitions and global energy transition commitments. Requirements: To join our team as Chief of Government Affairs and Sustentability Officer , we are looking for: Key Responsibilities: Political and Regulatory Influence: Represent ENGIE Mexico before federal government, Congress, and regulatory bodies, influencing policies and regulations. Institutional Positioning: Engage in national and international forums, business chambers, and diplomatic bodies, positioning ENGIE as a trusted partner in Mexico’s energy transition. ESG & Sustainability Strategy: Design and implement sustainability and ESG agendas, embedding them into core business strategies. Crisis and Reputation Management: Lead crisis communication efforts and serve as the company’s spokesperson when necessary. Strategic Internal Alignment: Advise the Country Manager and Executive Committee on political risks and regulatory developments. Stakeholder and Diplomatic Engagement: Build and sustain high-level relationships with key political stakeholders and authorities. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, ensuring operational excellence and talent development. Permitting and Institutional Coordination: Oversee engagement with authorities to ensure timely and effective permitting processes. Social and Territorial Risk Management: Ensure stakeholder engagement strategies are in place for interactions with third parties. Geopolitical & Regulatory Foresight: Act as an early-warning radar on trends that may impact operations or investments. Communications: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for the company. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Law, Political Science, Economics, Public Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Experience : Minimum 5-8 years in VP-level roles with direct engagement with senior government officials and regulatory bodies. At least 10 years leading government affairs, institutional relations, sustainability, or public affairs functions. Skills: Strong command of government affairs, public policy, ESG frameworks, stakeholder engagement, executive communication, and crisis management.
