Electrical Design Engineer Role The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating protection and control design on various substation projects. Key Responsibilities Include: Creating electrical plans according to design factors and client needs. Collaborating with the project team throughout the design and construction process. Developing complete protection, control, and monitoring systems. Evaluating and designing protective relay and control systems for substation protection. Planning and executing testing & commissioning of protection relaying systems. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, including understanding of three-phase power systems. Knowledge of basic protection principles and practices for transmission lines, distribution feeders, and major substation equipment. Familiarity with microprocessor based protection and control systems with the ability to understand one-lines and control schematics. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, and ANSI. Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience. 5 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
