Responsibilities Supervises and directs the efforts of all personnel involved in production scheduling, material control, expediting, and data processing support for material requirements planning. Ensures that all team members adhere to company policies and procedures, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Directs through supervisors the expediting, de-expediting, and traffic functions of the Production and Material Control department. Conferring with general purchasing agents, buyers, and traffic on material delivery problems, seeking timely and effective solutions to ensure smooth operations. Responsible for planning, directing, and executing all physical inventories and reconciling discrepant records. Develops and implements all materials systems and is responsible for the control and accuracy of all resultant records and reports. Keeps abreast of new developments in Production and Inventory Control, applying innovations that upgrade current systems and enhance efficiency. Ensure all employees are trained in safety rules and procedures, supporting and consistently enforcing safety policies. Participates in safety inspections and supports plant safety activities. Establishes safety measurement goals and accountability for employees under their direction. Proactively complies with safety laws, reviews department accident/investigation reports, and participates in preventive/corrective safety planning. Ensure supervisors follow through on prevention, counseling, or discipline as part of individual safety goals. Participate in employee progress or decision meetings concerning case management decisions. Prepares, administers, and monitors all department budgets. Establishes departmental priorities and objectives, reviewing progress and personnel on an annual basis to determine merit reviews and salary recommendations. Plans all departmental labor and office support requirements, ensuring the efficient use of resources. Leads cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency within the Production and Material Control department. Champions continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights and best practices to drive positive change. Facilitate effective communication between departments, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned on key objectives and priorities. Promotes a culture of transparency and collaboration, encouraging team members to share ideas and feedback. Mentors and develops team members, providing guidance, training, and support to help them reach their full potential. Conducts regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback and recognizing achievements. Monitors industry trends and market conditions to anticipate potential challenges and opportunities. Develop strategic plans to address emerging issues and capitalize on new opportunities, positioning the company for long-term success. To be considered for this position, an individual must meet the following minimum requirements: B.S./B.A. Degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting or a related area. Minimum seven years’ experience in Material management in the following areas: Production Scheduling, Inventory Control, Material Expediting or Warehouse Management. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with all departments within the company. Leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills. Must have excellent organization, supervisory, managerial and leadership skills to manage a team. High ethical standards. Models and supports organization’s goals and values; adapts to changing conditions; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles. SAP, MS Office. Lean Manufacturing. Bilingual English- Spanish (95%). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Requirements MBA APICS Certification Green or Black Belt Certification.
