Job Overview: The Tooling Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of thermoplastic injection tooling. This involves collaborating with external and internal vendors to maintain equipment, oversee tooling production, and implement effective maintenance strategies. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate records of tooling equipment, including vendor management and spare component inventory. Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions. Establish and manage tooling lifecycle schedules to prevent breakdowns and supply disruptions. Develop and execute capacity ramp-up plans to adapt to changing demand. Tooling Procurement and Manufacturing Prepare detailed specifications for tooling requirements, including design approval and supplier communication. Oversee tooling manufacturing from initial test to final validation, ensuring compliance with production needs. Facilitate FAT runs with suppliers, addressing any necessary adjustments or changes. Coordinate tooling transfer, asset handover, and validation with relevant functions. Ensure successful validation and release to production. Ongoing Maintenance and Validation Verify that all injection tooling operates within its validated state. Record tooling assets accurately in financial systems for timely depreciation and disposal.
