Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Payroll Operations Director to lead our payroll team. Main Responsibilities: Lead the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of payroll processing for multiple entities. Manage all deductions, including benefits, saving funds, garnishments, pension plans, special government programs, and other voluntary or involuntary withholdings throughout the payroll life cycle. Determine and control additional payroll benefits such as food coupons, grocery coupons, car allowances, and other perks. Calculate and initiate monthly payroll state tax payments for each entity. Appropriately withhold federal income taxes, social security, retirement, and government housing program contributions. Resolve discrepancies or issues with government offices and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Maintain SOX controls within the payroll organization and participate in audits (internal and external). Act as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries and interact with key stakeholders and partners. Guide the team through day-to-day activities, provide guidance on tasks and deliverables, and mentor staff members for growth and learning opportunities. Hold regular one-on-one sessions with direct reports to ensure alignment with leadership expectations and organizational goals. Coordinate year-end activities, including annual returns, reconciliation with government systems, year-end withholding tax adjustments, and individual processing. Provide customer support for issues that arise and develop problem resolution plans with mitigation strategies. Recommend, develop, and implement process improvements, procedures, and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy in Mexican payroll operations. Ensure compliance with third-party provider requirements, laws, and service expectations for services like food coupons, grocery coupons, gas aid, and others.
