Job Description

Position Overview The Manufacturing Planner is responsible for coordinating production schedules, material requirements, and workflow in order to meet customer demand, quality standards, and delivery deadlines. This role acts as the bridge between supply chain, production, and procurement, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing downtime while supporting business objectives. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Scheduling Develop, maintain, and update production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory requirements. Ensure schedules align with capacity, lead times, and resource availability. Monitor progress of production activities and adjust plans to address delays, shortages, or equipment issues. Material Planning & Inventory Control Plan and coordinate material requirements using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems. Ensure raw materials and components are available to support uninterrupted production. Collaborate with procurement to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess stock. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to resolve scheduling conflicts. Coordinate with quality control and maintenance teams to avoid bottlenecks and ensure product compliance. Provide clear communication to stakeholders regarding schedule changes, delivery risks, and production status. Continuous Improvement Identify inefficiencies in scheduling and material flow and recommend process improvements. Support lean manufacturing initiatives, capacity planning, and cost optimization. Utilize KPIs to track performance and drive improvements in production planning accuracy. Qualifications Education : Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience : 5+ years in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations. Technical Skills : Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Fusion). Strong Excel and data analysis skills. Understanding of lean manufacturing, capacity planning, and inventory management. Key Competencies Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
