What You Can Expect The Associate Director & Counsel, Global Compliance Investigations, will be responsible for conducting confidential internal investigations on behalf of Zimmer Biomet. This position will report to the Director & Senior Counsel -- Americas, Global Compliance Investigations (GCI), and will be responsible for investigations in the Latin America (LatAm) region. He/she will work closely and collaboratively with legal and compliance team members in the global and LatAm regional offices, manage outside counsel, as well as external investigation-related vendors and consultants. How You/'ll Create Impact Global Compliance Investigations Evaluate and manage hotline and non-hotline complaints and other potential compliance issues, including assessing the matter upfront, triaging matters to the appropriate team member or function, and developing work plans for items handled by the global compliance investigations team; Lead and conduct internal investigations, including document review and analysis, interviews, media research, email review, and analyzing other evidentiary sources; Leverage other investigation resources as needed, as well as developing findings and memorializing these efforts and final conclusions; Engage and oversee outside counsel, including regular contact with outside counsel, auditors, consultants and vendors; Work with the Director & Senior Counsel – Americas, GCI, to prepare and present findings of all investigations to relevant disciplinary committees and other relevant stakeholders; Work with the Director & Senior Counsel -- Americas, GCI, to provide regular updates on investigations and findings to the Vice President, Global Compliance Investigations, Chief Compliance Officer, General Counsel, and other senior leadership as appropriate. Other Actively monitor developments related to compliance, anticorruption enforcement, and other compliance-related matters, discussing with team members and drafting summaries/updates for external stakeholders; Analyze investigative trends and update relevant stakeholders in the region; Remain up-to-date on relevant trends and activities in the global compliance sphere within the life sciences industry. What Makes You Stand Out Expected Areas Of Competence (i.e., Knowledge, Skills And Abilities) Experience conducting and/or participating in investigation interviews or depositions; Detail oriented, with a high degree of ethics, integrity, discretion, and professionalism; Strong writing, editing and analytical skills, including a command of grammar and style conventions; Experience drafting investigation-related documents, including interview memoranda, document review protocols, investigation reports and presentations; Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks; Highly motivated, self-starter willing to meet strict deadlines and time constraints; Strong leadership presence and ability to manage people and projects effectively; Demonstrated ability to operate independently and work as part of a team, able to build relationships across and outside the department; Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse audience at multiple levels within the company through various formats; Excellent note-taking skills; Familiarity with forensic accounting, US GAAP, and payment systems (such as SAP) a plus; Must be fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese language skills a plus; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Your Background Education/Experience Requirements Bachelor’s Degree Minimum of 5 years’ experience, with a strong preference for experience with compliance and conducting internal investigations, including FCPA-related investigations, ideally for multinational companies in the health care/life sciences industry Experience with investigations in the Latin America region highly preferred Travel Expectations Travel Requirements International travel required on an as needed basis EOE/M/F/Vet/Disability #J-18808-Ljbffr
