Job Description

Overview Senior Manager Safety and Security, Non-Competition- MTY — Fixed Term Full Time position based in Monterrey, for FIFA World Cup 2026 (Canada, Mexico and the United States). The role leads safety and security planning and operations at the assigned stadium or non-competition sites, supports the team security strategy, and collaborates with Team Security Liaison Officers to service the 48 participating teams and millions of fans. Reporting to the Executive Director of Safety & Security in Monterrey, this role manages planning, coordination and implementation of comprehensive safety and security functions within the stadiums and works with FIFA counterparts across Functional Areas. Responsibilities Participate in multi-agency safety and security working groups and serve as FIFA representative on planning and coordination groups related to the stadium or non-competition sites. Support development and implementation of the safety and security strategy aligned with FWC 2026 objectives and FIFA Zurich. Liaise with state and local security agencies to support World Cup security planning, coordination, threat prevention and incident response. Develop plans for a coordinated and measured approach reflecting high standards of safety, security, service, and community engagement. Manage a multifaceted team delivering across safety and security areas, including third parties (suppliers, local security teams, etc.). Participate in budget planning for the participating stadiums or non-competition sites and collaborate with other functions as needed. Collaborate with FIFA World Cup 2026 leaders and departments to ensure safety and security considerations are integrated into planning and execution processes. Participate in safety and security assessments of BBVA Stadium Monterrey or non-competition sites and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures. Work with strategic partners and FWC 2026 Venue Teams to incorporate safety standards into overall planning. Oversee safety and security protocols related to transportation, accommodation, and other services for players, team personnel and key stakeholders. Prepare regular reports on safety and security operations status for the assigned stadium or non-competition sites and communicate with the Regional Director of Safety and Security. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in safety, security, policy development, and event management. Fluent in English and Spanish. Minimum ten years of experience in safety and security planning and operations for large, complex organizations, with a focus on large-scale events; FIFA tournament experience is a plus. Knowledge of sport event safety and security planning and standards. Experience with FIFA Stadium Safety and Security Regulations is a plus. Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Strong risk and crisis management, physical security planning and operations, and emergency preparedness capabilities. Proven track record of building and/or managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders in a high-profile organization. Experience in multicultural environments; sports industry experience is an advantage. Experience in building and leading effective teams in a fast-paced environment.
