Customs Enforcement Officer About the Position: This is a challenging role within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, requiring current or prior law enforcement experience. Responsibilities: Patrol the international border and coastal waterways using various government assets, including vehicles, horses, boats, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, and motorcycles. Respond to electronic sensor alarms, interpret tracks and other physical evidence, and use infrared scopes during night operations. Apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers at or near land borders. Requirements: Citizenship: You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years. Age Restriction: You must be referred for selection before reaching your 40th birthday in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Directive 251-03.
