Our client, one of North America's most recognized furniture brands has requested us to search for a Sr. Engineering Manager to support their manufacturing operations in Mexico (3 Plants), position is located in Monterrey, N.L. Job Summary: The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the engineering team in a furniture manufacturing environment. This role is crucial for driving high performance and efficiency levels across the production processes, including sewing, upholstery, woodmill operations, and CNC cutting machines. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of experience in a similar role, with at least 3 years in the furniture manufacturing sector. A highly self-driven individual, the Engineering Manager enjoys challenges and excels at problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Lead and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of production processes, including sewing, upholstery, woodmill operations, and CNC cutting. Project Management: Oversee engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes and machinery to troubleshoot issues and improve operational performance. Innovation: Drive innovation and technological advancements within the manufacturing processes to maintain competitiveness and enhance productivity. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical and operational issues promptly and effectively, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Performance Metrics: Monitor and analyze performance metrics to ensure the engineering team meets quality, efficiency, and safety standards. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as production, quality control, and supply chain to ensure seamless operations and optimal outcomes. Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Training and Development: Mentor and support the professional development of team members, providing training and knowledge-sharing opportunities. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Experience: More than 5 years of experience in an engineering management role, with at least 3 years in furniture manufacturing, experience with case goods is a must. Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with engineering software and tools related to manufacturing Deep understanding of sewing, upholstery, woodmill operations, and CNC cutting processes.
