Job Description This role is within an engineering group. A successful incumbent is expected to develop and review component/design recommendations in accordance with global sourcing, quality, and engineering strategies. Collaborate cross functionally to initiate and execute component qualification plans for productivity, sustaining engineering, and new product development. Perform risk assessment on all alternate parts/materials using gap analysis methodology and identify viable alternatives/technologies and test plans for reduced cost, continuity of supply or improved quality; implement identified changes. Work with design and/or product engineering, manufacturers, and suppliers to identify component/design substitutions required for all supply chain constraints and component discontinuations on products. Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical degree with equivalent experience required. Additionally, 2+ years' experience in an engineering discipline; experience interfacing with parts/component suppliers/manufacturers; experience supporting parts/component selection and BOM scrubs are preferred. Familiarity with general MS office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point. CAD solid modeling and surfacing proficiency. Ability to influence without direct authority.
