Plan A Technologies is looking for an experiencedSenior iOS Engineerto help build a platform that makes the buying or selling experience delightful. You will be responsible for understanding Product requirements and the customer problems they are aiming to solve, distilling them into manageable subparts that can be divided across other engineers on the project.During a project’s execution, you will act as a leader ensuring the solutions are well executed and be relied upon by Product and Design to give an engineering perspective on how we can iteratively improve a product to better benefit our customers. This is a fast‑paced job with room for significant career growth.Please note:you must have at least 6+ years of experience as iOS developer using Swift and shipping apps to the App Store and previous leadership experience to be considered for this role.JOB RESPONSIBILITYWork in a startup‑like environment, building agile products and servicesCollaborate closely with engineers on your team, engineers on other teams, as well as your product and design counterparts to successfully launch projects which solve real‑world customer problemsEvaluate and understand the technical trade offs necessary to bring product initiatives to fruition, weighing different approaches and arriving to a recommended solution, detailing its pros and consIndependently define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex projectsPerform code reviews, design reviews, and write high quality testsAdvocate for efficient, scalable, and extensible approaches that solve technical problems in a manner that stands the test of timeHold yourself and your team to a high standard of code quality and operational rigor, ensuring that code is well‑tested, and your systems have appropriate monitoring, alerting, and runbooks implementedBecome the subject matter expert for one or more services in your domainCreate clear and concise documentation (diagrams, service descriptions, decisions, runbooks)Identify and remove bottlenecks to address inefficiencies in the developer experienceMentor junior engineers on the team, building their technical skills and ensuring that they understand best practices around engineering and operational excellenceEXPERIENCEBS in CS or equivalent practical experience6+ years of professional iOS development experience using Swift and shipping apps to the App StoreAbility to collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders to implement solutions which surprise and delight our customersUnderstanding of Computer Science fundamentals and iOS design patterns and best practices, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineersExperience leading the development of a project from planning to release, dispatching work among a small team, mentoring and guidance junior engineersA sheer eye for design and attention to detail, the products you build should not merely be functional but should take in context and anticipate our customer’s needs in a beautiful wayExperience integrating with RESTful server‑side servicesExperience with Scrum/Agile development methodologiesExperience leading teamsExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishPassion about mentoring and guiding more junior engineers to growExcellent organizational, problem solving and analytical abilitiesOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsInitiative and drive to do great thingsABOUT THE COMPANY/BENEFITS Plan A Technologies is an American software development and technology advisory firm that brings top‑tier engineering talent to clients around the world.
