Your Job The Busbar Design Engineer will assist with the transfer of programs from our other global busbar plants, lead PLM activities, and lead the design and development activities from concept to production for custom busbar solutions for a variety of customers and industries. Our Team This position is focused on developing innovative and customized busbar solutions for various industries and global clients. We work in collaboration with international teams to transfer programs, lead development activities from concept to production, and ensure that each design meets the highest standards of quality and efficient manufacturing. What you will do Develop new product designs handling all phases required to bring concepts into production. Assist with the transfer of legacy Molex busbar products to Nogales. Work with the global Molex team to load new/legacy part numbers into SAP. Interact directly with customers in design phases to verify customer requirements and make design recommendations; read and interpret customer drawings. Lead design-for-manufacturing (DFM) taking into consideration cost effective manufacturing materials and processes. Full design cycle accountability. Work directly with other design engineers and follow all product development steps from raw material to fabrication, machining, forming, plating, install through shipping. Work with manufacturing teams to help develop and establish cost estimates and project options. Travel to visit customers and manufacturing facilities when necessary. Responsible for follow-up, expediting all action items of a new product program. Interface with external clients and internal partners to ensure design objectives are met in a timely manner and assists by providing product information, engineering samples and technical advice. Perform hands-on activities including mechanical screen tests, prototype fabrication, and part measurements. Understand, support and contribute to compliance with the PBM Philosophy, the different Quality Management standards in which the company is certified, in Safety and Hygiene, in environmental management systems, Six Sigma, RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) and CTPAT/OAS following the established policies and procedures. Perform other related functions that are assigned by the management. Who you are Bachelor in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field Two years of minimum experience as a design engineer or related Must be fluent in Spanish and proficient in English Proficient in solid modeling to generate 3D models & 2D drawings Knowledge of how to read technical drawings and understand GD&T Knowledge in the following areas: metal fabrication, stamping, plating and/or assembly Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects Ability to work effectively within a team environment Ability to develop and meet project schedules, along with contingency plans Demonstrate ability to think big picture and identify and develop future needs Demonstrate ability to analyze information and solve problems with sound solutions What will put you ahead Experience in manufacturing or processes in addition to the design area Siemens NX 2D and 3D CAD experience. Busbar design and manufacturing experience. Design experience in the following areas: metal fabrication, stamping, plating and/or assembly. Experience with high power/high voltage systems.
