Job Description

The Electrician is responsible for the successful wiring of electrical equipment in the execution of the project according to contractual terms and customer specifications. The incumbent is responsible for the work, from process instructions & test procedures to completed tasks along with monitoring and recording related documentation to meet quality requirements per project. The incumbent is responsible for determining the resources required for the project and requests the resources from the appropriate functional manager. The incumbent will retain a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, and teamwork. The incumbent will ensure the appropriate resolution of problems. Read, interpret and follow drawings, schematics, diagrams, specifications, work orders or reports Determines or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing various complex electronic assembly operations Work from process work instructions and test procedures to complete tasks along with monitoring and recording related documentation to meet quality requirements Physical assembly and wiring of industrial control panels Build electrical subsystems including cables and electrical cabinets involving pneumatic, electrical and electronic components Mount devices to back panels and enclosures using a variety of methods including drilling and tapping steel Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits Tag components Wire crimping and harnessing Adjust or repair electrical equipment. Test product to ensure conformance to specifications and test functional performance Build products such as electric motors, computers, electronic control devices, and sensing equipment Ability to use tools of the trade including component fine-pitch soldering and de-soldering tools effectively in the work Performs various complex electronic assembly operations such as Harnessing and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) builds. Route and bundle wires and cables neatly and according to established electrical standards Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to drawings, or schematics specifications, using instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment Perform tests on electrical assemblies during the production process Populate or modify/replace components on printed circuit board assemblies Ensures that quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process Records information on production records, logs and other report forms Reworks and repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel Maintains appropriate communication with supervisor to ensure efficient and timely service Follows any safety regulations necessary and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Cleans working area prior to leaving each job All other duties as may be assigned Requirements: 309A and/or 442A Electrician License required Post-secondary certificate in related field or 2 years related experience Experience in performing various complex electronic assembly operations such as Harnessing and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) builds Electrical Assembly or Industrial Electrician: 2 years Operate heavy machinery Sitting, standing, walking, lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 50 lbs. Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits Must have working knowledge and experience performing fine-pitch soldering Must be able to operate microscope for extended periods of time, follow drawings, torque tools, measuring devices. Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical circuits General knowledge of custom automation equipment Ability to read Bill of Materials Proficient use in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Ability to use small hand tools and have eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity Must be able to Read, interpret and follow drawings, schematics, diagrams, specifications, work orders or reports Visual acuity and manual dexterity Good verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and initiative to develop skills further
